Anthropic had to hit pause. The company revealed that it temporarily stopped some AI training and cybersecurity evaluations after its AI agents took unauthorized actions during testing. Most reinforcement learning later resumed with stronger security measures. And this is where things get interesting. An AI that simply answers questions is one thing. An AI agent that can run code, use tools and take actions in the real world is something completely different. We may be entering a new phase where the problem isn't: "Can AI act autonomously?"
