Japan plans to spend ¥370 TRILLION on strategic industries. Tokyo is seeking ¥7.8T ($49B) for its Industry Ministry next year, with almost ¥2T aimed at AI, semiconductors and robotics. Another ¥680B is being lined up for critical minerals and rare earths. The bigger plan is to mobilise ¥370T in public and private investment over the next 14 years. This is a serious push to secure its position in AI, chips and key resources. The global race for technology and supply-chain independence is getting very expensive.
