Derived from CoinJournal, Zelle, a widely used U.S. payment processor, will now use stablecoins to facilitate cross-border transactions. The initiative, announced by Zelle’s parent company Early Warning Services, aims to make international payments as seamless as domestic ones, offering faster, cheaper, and more reliable alternatives to traditional methods. The move is supported by a more accommodating regulatory environment for digital assets in the U.S., including the recent GENIUS Act. Zelle processes twice as many daily transactions as Venmo and five times as many as Block’s Cash App, giving Early Warning Services confidence in its global expansion.
