Odaily Planet News: The Zcash Foundation announced that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially concluded its multi-year investigation and has clearly stated that it will not recommend any enforcement actions. The foundation mentioned that it received subpoenas related to "certain cryptocurrency asset issuances" in August 2023 and has now received a notice of case closure from the regulator.
A SEC spokesperson responded that the agency "does not comment on whether investigations are ongoing." This case closure occurs against the backdrop of a shift in the SEC's law enforcement approach toward the cryptocurrency industry. Over the past year, the SEC has dropped or terminated multiple cases, including those involving Coinbase, and investigations into certain DeFi projects, which are seen as a contrast to its previously more aggressive regulatory stance.
