XRP Ledger is drawing attention as its sidechain, Xahau, becomes central to the launch of a blockchain-based euro remittance settlement system targeting Ethiopia.

Global payments infrastructure company TerraPay, in collaboration with Oromia Cooperative Bank, has announced the launch of a blockchain-based remittance settlement system for receiving remittances to Ethiopia. The project supports euro remittances from Europe and was developed in partnership with the Inclusive FinTech Foundation (INFTF).

INFTF and TerraPay, in collaboration with Ethiopia's financial authorities, have established a regulatory and technical framework for blockchain-based inbound settlement.
