X is tightening enforcement standards for its creator revenue-sharing program, focusing on accounts that repurpose content and manipulate engagement. The platform states that the updated Grok model has been deployed to detect duplicated content, and related actions will directly impact creators' revenue distribution.
New version of Grok detects duplicate content
According to TechCrunch, X has recently intensified its efforts to combat content scraping. The platform states that the latest version of the Grok AI model can identify duplicate content three times more effectively than its predecessor.
This adjustment covers videos as well as popular text content that has been repeatedly copied. Even if an account attempts to obscure the source by adding watermarks, intros, or other edits, if the system determines it to be repurposed content, the associated monetization revenue will be redirected to the original uploader.
On the X side, it was stated that under the new rules, creator payouts exceeding $1 million will be returned to the original authors.
Interactive incentive accounts will be removed from the program.
In addition to removing reposted content, X is also cracking down on "engagement bait" behavior. The platform states that accounts repeatedly posting content such as “reply and I’ll follow back” to gain interactions and followers may also be removed from the Creator Program.
According to X, if a user is identified as engaging in such behavior three or more times, their account will not only lose eligibility for creator revenue sharing but will also be referred to the platform policy team for further evaluation regarding potential account suspension.
Robot cleanup synchronization has been accelerated.
X believes that some abusive behavior is linked to AI tools and automated accounts, so the platform is also accelerating its efforts to remove bots. Previously, in April, X stated that the platform could identify and suspend 208 bot accounts per minute, and this rate continues to increase.
Prior to this, X also launched an enhanced video editing and recording tool, aiming to encourage creators to publish content directly using the platform’s native tools, reducing reliance on repurposing and re-packaging others' materials.
