According to The Block, World, a Web3 identity verification project co-founded by Sam Altman, has announced the release of AgentKit, a developer toolkit for Coinbase’s agent payment protocol x402, currently available in beta. AgentKit enables users verified by World to delegate authorization of their World ID to AI agents, allowing these agents to cryptographically prove the presence of a real human behind them when interacting with websites and platforms—while preserving privacy. World ID is the mechanism previously launched by World that allows users to cryptographically prove their unique human identity. Erik Reppel, Head of Developer Platform Engineering at Coinbase and founder of x402, stated that payment solves the “how” of agent commerce, while identity solves the “who” is participating—combining both provides developers with a complete trust framework.
