In accordance with Chainthink, on December 1, 2025, crypto analyst Willy Woo published a chart comparing Tether (USDT) with traditional banks during bank runs. Despite a 20-25% redemption surge in 2022, Tether fully redeemed its assets, outperforming Silicon Valley Bank (25%) and First Republic Bank (57%). Tether currently holds 77% in cash equivalents, with the remainder in gold and Bitcoin, maintaining a 3% over-collateralization rate. Even under extreme market conditions, where volatile assets dropped 30%, USDT retained 95% asset support.
