ChainThink reports that, on June 5, according to WeChat Pay’s internal testing information, WeChat Pay is collaborating with the AI agent WorkBuddy to beta test an AI payment feature. This beta is currently in an early internal testing phase at Tencent and has achieved, for the first time, dedicated fund allocation and per-transaction confirmation by an AI agent on a third-party payment platform.
Users can transfer funds in and out of their AI-specific card from WeChat Balance directly through the AI-specific card interface, with the card's spending limit entirely dependent on the deposited balance.
During the binding process, users must explicitly authorize and bind a specific agent. WeChat Pay displays a prompt on the binding page stating that this card is designated for agent use, and even after binding is activated, the agent must obtain user confirmation before each payment. The specific transaction process is completed collaboratively by the agent and the user.
For example, when purchasing Q Coins, after an inner-test user submits a purchase request in the WorkBuddy chat window, the agent will recommend and generate an order;
When the order shows as processing, the agent calls the AI payment tool to generate a confirmation link. After the user clicks it, WeChat on their mobile device opens the payment confirmation page, where they can verify the amount and enter their password to complete the payment.
