WeChat chat history can now be summarized by the AI assistant Yuanbao.

AIMPACT Update: On May 13 (UTC+8), according to monitoring by Beating, WeChat and Tencent’s native AI assistant, “Yuanbao,” have officially integrated cross-app message processing functionality. Users can now select any chat logs—whether from group chats with 99+ unread messages or lengthy private conversations—and simply tap “Forward to Another App” to send them to Yuanbao, enabling the AI to generate a summary with one click. In addition to its core “thread summarization” feature, this update includes several practical use cases derived from chat history. For example, forwarding invoices or reimbursement records to Yuanbao will automatically generate a table listing total amounts and purposes; sending lengthy discussions about travel plans with friends allows Yuanbao to extract requirements and create personalized itineraries; in private chats, it can even analyze conversation dynamics and suggest appropriate replies for users engaging with someone they’re interested in. This design leverages common pain points in WeChat usage to provide a natural and direct entry point for Tencent’s standalone AI app, Yuanbao.
