Derived from Forklog, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin introduced Kohaku, an open-source toolkit designed to enhance privacy and security in the Ethereum ecosystem. Speaking at Devcon, Buterin emphasized the need for privacy improvements in Ethereum's final development phase. Kohaku is currently in active development and includes tools like Railgun and Privacy Pools, which allow users to hide funds while complying with regulations. Buterin also criticized FTX, calling it the opposite of Ethereum's decentralized principles. He highlighted the ideological differences between centralized exchanges and decentralized platforms like Ethereum.
