As reported by Bijiawang, VanEck's product head Ed Lopez stated that a large-scale sell-off of the U.S. dollar is underway. Speaking at the Schwab IMPACT 2025 conference, Lopez highlighted that geopolitical tensions are triggering capital to flow into other asset classes. He noted that the exclusion of certain countries from the SWIFT system has prompted central banks to diversify their reserves, leading to increased gold purchases. Institutional investors are also shifting funds into gold, emerging markets, and top-tier crypto asset Bitcoin, as they anticipate a weakening dollar. Lopez added that the dollar exodus is creating investment opportunities in bonds, particularly in emerging markets, where fundamentals are stronger and central banks are making sound decisions.
