According to Bijié Wǎng, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office upheld Unstoppable Domains' blockchain domain patent, rejecting ENS Labs' challenge to invalidate it. The Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruled that ENS failed to demonstrate prior art or a threat to the technology. Unstoppable Domains CEO Matt Gould stated the decision confirms the integrity of their intellectual property and supports open Web3 innovation. The patent covers resolving blockchain domains via smart contracts, enabling human-readable names instead of complex addresses.
