ChainThink reports that on March 5, the U.S. Central Command stated that the U.S. military is using a range of AI tools to rapidly process the massive volumes of data generated by operations against Iran. Since the military strikes began last week, the U.S. has targeted over 2,000 sites, including 1,000 within the first 24 hours. U.S. Central Command Commander General Brad Cooper said the scale of this operation is nearly double that of the U.S. campaign in Iraq in 2003.
Captain Timothy Hawkins, a spokesperson for CENTCOM, stated that artificial intelligence technology played a critical role in operations against Iran, enabling preliminary screening of incoming data so analysts could focus their efforts on higher-level analysis and verification. According to sources, one of the AI technologies used in the operations against Iran is the digital mission control platform Maven Smart System. As previously disclosed by the U.S. military, this system, developed by Palantir Technologies, integrates data from over 150 distinct sources. One of the multiple large language models deployed in the system includes Anthropic’s Claude tool.
