ChainCatcher report: According to an official announcement from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the FCA has selected four companies to join its regulatory sandbox, enabling them to test innovative stablecoin services in a live environment with appropriate safeguards. The four selected companies are Monee Financial Technologies, ReStabilise, Revolut, and VVTX, chosen from 20 applications. Testing will commence in the first quarter of 2026 and will focus on use cases including stablecoin issuance, payments, wholesale settlement, and cryptocurrency trading. Matthew Long, Director of Payments and Digital Assets at the FCA, stated that this initiative aims to ensure the reliability of stablecoins in payments and settlement, and that the test outcomes will directly inform the UK’s final regulatory framework for stablecoins, expected later in 2026.
