The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has authorized DTCC to tokenize traditional assets on blockchain platforms. The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation will launch the service in late 2026, with its subsidiary DTC issuing tokenized versions of major assets like the Russell 1000 index and U.S. Treasuries. These tokens will mirror the legal rights of the original assets. The move is seen as a key step for blockchain in U.S. finance. Market cap growth could follow as more assets transition to digital form.
