In accordance with The Street Crypto, American conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson has linked the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, to U.S. intelligence agencies, sparking criticism from Bitcoin supporters. Speaking at a Turning Point USA event, Carlson expressed concerns that Bitcoin could be a tool for societal control by financial elites and politicians. He speculated that Satoshi may have been affiliated with the CIA, though he admitted he could not prove it. Bitcoin advocates, including Jack Mallers of Strike and Marty Bent of TFTC, pushed back, emphasizing that Bitcoin's open-source nature makes its creator irrelevant. On-chain data shows that the wallet cluster linked to Satoshi holds approximately 1.096 million BTC, valued at $120.48 billion as of October 2025. While some users acknowledged Carlson's concerns about privacy and control in crypto, most dismissed his CIA theory as baseless.
