Odaily Planet Daily reports that Tools for Humanity (TFH), the development team behind Worldcoin, is collaborating with Gap, Visa, and Tinder to deploy its "World ID" human identity verification product.
Reports indicate that select Gap stores in San Francisco have deployed "Orb" devices to collect facial and iris data for generating World ID. Meanwhile, TFH plans to launch a payment card partnered with Visa, enabling World ID holders to spend digital assets. The dating app Tinder is also testing this identity system in Japan to verify that users are real individuals with accurate age information.
TFH stated that Orb devices convert facial and iris images into anonymous digital identifiers stored on the user’s device, with the company itself retaining no original biometric data. Its business model aims to generate revenue by charging applications for verification services. (The Wall Street Journal)
