BlockBeats report: On June 21, Thailand’s Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with provincial electricity authorities, police, and local administrative officials, conducted a joint enforcement operation this past Saturday across five northeastern provinces—Ubon Ratchathani, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Roi Et, and Maha Sarakham—inspecting a total of 14 locations.
A total of 315 cryptocurrency mining devices were seized, and investigators found that the suspects powered the mining equipment by tampering with electricity meters and illegally tapping into power lines. The total estimated loss amounts to 40.38 million baht (approximately $1.227 million), including 5.38 million baht in electricity violation fines and approximately 35 million baht in unpaid electricity bills. All relevant evidence has been collected, and authorities have filed charges against the suspects.
