Tether Hires Top HSBC Gold Traders to Expand Bullion Strategy

As per Ourcryptotalk, Tether has hired Vincent Domien and Mathew O’Neill, two senior executives from HSBC, to bolster its gold operations. Domien previously led HSBC’s global metals trading, while O’Neill managed precious metals for EMEA. Tether, which already holds over $12 billion in physical gold, aims to scale its reserves further, supporting both USDT and Tether Gold (XAUT), the latter with a $1.56 billion market cap. The firm has been acquiring approximately 1 metric ton of gold per week, positioning itself as one of the largest non-government gold buyers globally.
