Tempo, a new blockchain from Stripe and Paradigm, is set to launch its mainnet by the end of March. The project will employ a dual-track model, featuring retail applications in payments and DeFi, alongside enterprise solutions for B2B, payroll, and credit. The chain will adopt the TIP-20 standard, eliminating the need for a native token to pay transaction fees. No token will be issued at launch, as the team is awaiting more favorable market conditions and clearer regulatory guidance. Stripe is also working on integrating partner resources. This announcement underscores the project’s focus on building infrastructure rather than launching new tokens.

Odaily Planet Daily reports: The cryptocurrency podcast series The Rollup posted on X, stating that sources have informed them that Tempo, the new public blockchain developed jointly by Stripe and Paradigm, is expected to launch its mainnet by the end of March, with simultaneous launches for enterprise and retail users. The Rollup noted that the current information includes:

1. The Tempo mainnet launch will adopt a dual-track release model: the retail side will focus on payments and DeFi, while the enterprise side will focus on agent-based payments, B2B, payroll disbursement, remittances, and credit expansion.

2. The new TIP-20 standard means that paying for gas on this chain no longer requires the native token.

3. No token will be issued at mainnet launch. The team is waiting for a more favorable market environment and clearer regulatory framework to design a more rational token economic model.

4. Stripe is actively driving the integration and implementation of partner resources behind the scenes.

5. The enterprise roadmap will be built around agent-based payments, covering areas such as contractor settlements, payroll disbursement, cross-border remittances, pre-paid interest payments, and credit extension.
