As per HashNews, Swiss precious metals giant MKS PAMP SA is restarting its gold token project to capitalize on growing interest in digital physical gold. After an unsuccessful attempt six years ago, MKS PAMP has acquired Gold Token SA to relaunch the initiative. The company, which previously participated in the 2019 DGLD token launch alongside CoinShares International Ltd, noted the initial timing was 'too early,' leading to the token's dormancy. The new project will involve the firm's trading division purchasing tokens and providing liquidity on exchanges. DGLD tokens will be issued only to certified institutions, which can then trade them on secondary crypto exchanges. The tokens can be redeemed for as little as 1 gram of physical gold.
