In accordance with TechFlow, on November 4, Standard Chartered Hong Kong and Greater China and North Asia CEO Fiona Fong announced that the bank will launch innovative digital asset solutions in Hong Kong next year, including custody services for Bitcoin and Ethereum, the two largest cryptocurrencies by market cap. The services will expand the bank’s existing offerings in Luxembourg and the UAE (via the Dubai International Financial Centre), with the launch planned for January 2026. Standard Chartered Hong Kong emphasized its ongoing support for innovation to promote Hong Kong’s digital asset ecosystem, including participation in initiatives led by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority such as the Ensemble project, mBridge, the Digital HKD pilot, GenA.I. sandbox, and the DLT regulatory incubator.
