Standard Chartered to Launch Bitcoin and Ethereum Custody Services in Hong Kong in 2026

According to MarsBit, Standard Chartered Hong Kong will launch digital asset custody services for Bitcoin and Ethereum in Hong Kong in January 2026. The bank plans to expand its existing services, which are currently available in Luxembourg and the UAE (via the Dubai International Financial Centre). Standard Chartered Hong Kong also mentioned its active participation in several innovation initiatives led by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, including the Ensemble project, mBridge, the Digital HKD pilot, Gen A.I. sandbox, and the DLT regulatory incubator.
