According to BitcoinWorld, South Korean authorities have launched an urgent investigation into a $32.2 million cryptocurrency theft from Upbit. The National Police Agency’s Cyber Terror Investigation Division confirmed the probe began on November 27, with officers conducting an on-site investigation at Dunamu, Upbit’s parent company. The stolen amount is equivalent to 44.5 billion won in virtual assets. Police are focusing on forensic analysis, transaction tracing, and identifying security vulnerabilities, while also seeking international cooperation to track the stolen funds.
