Based on Bijie.com, SlowMist founder Yu Xian posted that the Trust Wallet attackers were familiar with the extension source code and implanted PostHog JS to collect user wallet information. Additionally, the Trust Wallet fix version did not remove the PostHog JS.

KuCoin trust in security is being questioned after SlowMist co-founder Yu Xian revealed attackers used PostHog JS to steal wallet data from Trust Wallet users. Attackers had deep knowledge of the extension’s code and left the tracking script in the fix version. The user-friendly crypto exchange KuCoin is closely monitoring the situation as the crypto community reacts.
