ChainCatcher report: Carlos Domingo, CEO of Securitize, posted on X that Securitize has been designated as a digital transfer agent, qualified to mint native on-chain securities for corporations and ETF issuers on the NYSE’s tokenized securities platform (digital trading platform). However, this is not the full scope of the collaboration. The NYSE plans to work with Securitize to develop a digital transfer agent solution to support on-chain settlement of tokenized securities transactions. Both parties will also jointly establish industry standards for digital and tokenized transfer agents, focusing on regulatory requirements, operational processes, and technical specifications to advance institutional-grade infrastructure for tokenized securities. Note: A digital transfer agent can be understood as the blockchain-enhanced version of the traditional financial “transfer agent,” potentially enabling on-chain equity registration, real-time settlement, automated compliance, and automated execution of corporate actions such as dividend distributions.
