SBF seeks retrial after 25-year FTX fraud sentence. His mother filed a motion in a New York federal court, citing new evidence. SBF, representing himself, must prove the evidence is significant. The case involves CFT violations and alleged misuse of customer funds. Liquidity and crypto markets remain under regulatory scrutiny. Former U.S. President Trump said he would not pardon SBF.

Odaily Planet Daily News: The former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), who has already been sentenced, is seeking a retrial. It is reported that his mother recently submitted an application to the U.S. federal court in New York, stating that new evidence has emerged and the related fraud charges should be retried.

Currently, SBF is proceeding with the application pro se. According to legal procedures, he must demonstrate the existence of significant new evidence sufficient to affect the original judgment in order to possibly obtain a retrial.

SBF was previously sentenced to 25 years in prison for the FTX collapse case and has continued to challenge the verdict through appeals and other means. His past defense had emphasized that FTX was not entirely insolvent at the time of its collapse, but appellate court judges pointed out that the core of the case was whether customer funds were misappropriated and investors were misled, rather than whether the company was solvent.

In addition, U.S. President Trump recently stated that he would not consider granting clemency to SBF.
