ChainCatcher report, according to Bits.media, Russia’s state-owned enterprise Gazprom has required its 17 subsidiaries to open digital ruble accounts with the Central Bank of Russia. The company stated that this move is in preparation for compliance with legislation set to take effect on September 1, which mandates that legal entities must be able to accept digital rubles as payment for goods and services. The Russian digital ruble has been under testing since August 2023, and as of the end of 2025, more than 130 legal entity accounts have participated in the platform’s testing. Starting September 1, major Russian banks and large enterprises will be required to provide their customers with the ability to conduct digital ruble transactions.
