As reported by Forklog, AI startup Runway has launched its new video generation model, Gen-4.5, which outperformed competitors like Google's Veo 3 and OpenAI's Sora 2 Pro in independent testing. The model, previously known as Whisper Thunder, achieved 1,247 Elo points in the Artificial Analysis Text to Video leaderboard and ranked first in the Video Arena. Runway's CEO emphasized the model's ability to understand complex instructions, including camera choreography and scene composition, and its realistic physics and motion. The model is being rolled out gradually and will be fully available by the end of the week via the company's platform, API, and partners. It was developed using Nvidia's Hopper and Blackwell GPUs.
