As per Bpaynews, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) cut the Official Cash Rate (OCR) by 25 bps to 2.25% and indicated the move could be the last of the easing cycle. The central bank now projects the OCR to remain around 2.25% into early 2026, rising to 2.65% by late 2027. The New Zealand dollar initially jumped but stalled below 0.57 as traders shifted focus to potential future rate hikes. The RBNZ’s guidance, described as a 'dovish cut, hawkish lean,' suggests the easing phase has largely concluded after more than 300 bps of cuts since August 2024.
