Odaily Seer monitoring shows that Polymarket has launched a new prediction event: “Whether Zcash’s Orchard privacy pool has been confirmed to have been exploited by a vulnerability.”
On June 4, the Zcash core development team disclosed that they had deployed an emergency network upgrade to fix a critical cryptographic vulnerability in the Orchard privacy pool that could allow malicious actors to infinitely forge ZEC out of thin air. Due to the technical flaw’s property of being “impossible to cryptographically prove whether it was ever exploited in the past,” the independent support organization Shielded Labs proposed on June 5 that, as part of the NU7 upgrade at the end of July, a new privacy pool be deployed and strict “Turnstile-accounting” be enforced on tokens exiting Orchard to detect any forged tokens. According to this event’s settlement rules, if official sources or reputable mainstream media confirm before December 31, 2026, that the vulnerability was successfully exploited on the mainnet prior to its patch, the event will settle as YES.
Odaily Seer continuously monitors prediction markets to see changes before pricing.
