ChainCatcher report, according to The Block, Polygon Labs and GSR-backed Ethereum scaling network Katana have acquired the decentralized exchange IDEX and launched the perpetuals platform Katana Perps using IDEX’s matching engine. As an early hybrid “DeFi-CeFi” exchange, IDEX will provide order book matching and AMM liquidity infrastructure for Katana Perps. Katana stated that this move is part of its strategy to “own more of its tech stack and revenue streams,” aiming to establish infrastructure before regulatory clarity opens the door to on-chain perpetuals. Katana’s mainnet has already launched on a customized version of OP Stack and integrated with Polygon AggLayer. Initial market-making support for Katana Perps is provided by GSR, Selini Capital, and Auros.
