OpenAI and Thrive Holdings have developed a self-iterating tax AI for the Crete Professional Alliance, a network of over 30 accounting firms. The system uses real-time corrections from accountants to generate code patches via Codex, improving accuracy. In a six-week pilot, it processed 7,000 tax forms, increasing correct field entries from 25% to 86%, with a peak of 97%. Launched in December 2025, the project includes IP ownership by Thrive, with OpenAI engineers directly involved. As altcoins to watch gain attention, this development could influence the Fear & Greed Index in the broader crypto market.
ME AI News, according to monitoring by Beating, OpenAI has partnered with digital transformation platform Thrive Holdings to develop an adaptive Tax AI for Crete Professional Alliance, a network of over 30 accounting firms. The system automatically converts accountants’ correction behaviors during routine tax filing into test cases; the Codex model then generates code patches in response to these tests and submits them as pull requests (PRs) for developer review. This closed-loop design—“accountant identifies error, AI writes patch, developer validates”—reduces traditional software bug-fix cycles from days to seconds, enabling rapid autonomous evolution of the AI while maintaining strict compliance and security standards. In a pilot project, the AI processed 7,000 complex tax forms of types 1040 and 1041. After six weeks of deployment, the percentage of tax forms achieving a 75% field-filling accuracy threshold rose from 25% to 86%, with the system’s peak field-filling accuracy reaching 97%. In real-world tax operations, the system helped accountants reduce tax preparation time by approximately one-third and increased overall business throughput by about 50%. The collaboration began in December 2025 with OpenAI’s equity investment in Thrive Holdings. Unlike traditional models where large model providers dominate technology output, the agreement explicitly states that all intellectual property (IP) and final products derived from the collaboration belong solely to Thrive Holdings, while OpenAI directly assigns engineers to co-develop the solution. This unique IP isolation model ensures vertical industry enterprises retain technological and product sovereignty during their AI transformation. (Source: BlockBeats)
