Odaily Planet Daily reports: The perpetual futures trading platform Ondo Perps has launched a tokenized stock collateral feature, allowing all users to use Ondo Stocks tokenized stocks as margin to support their perpetual futures positions.
This feature initially supports tokenized S&P 500 ETF (SPYon) and Nasdaq 100 ETF (QQQon). Ondo states that users no longer need to convert funds into stablecoins or sell held assets to utilize tokenized stocks as productive capital in derivatives trading. Ondo Perps reports that the platform’s cumulative trading volume has exceeded $3.8 billion, with trader demand primarily focused on: hedging stock risk within a single platform; providing deep liquidity for stock perpetual contracts; lower spreads and reduced slippage; execution speeds approaching those of centralized exchanges (CEXs); 24/7 trading; and up to 20x leverage.
Ondo stated that the tokenized stock collateral feature is a key component of its "productive capital" strategy, aiming to enhance the capital efficiency of tokenized stocks and gradually increase the liquidity and efficiency of on-chain stock perpetual markets to approach that of traditional derivatives markets.
Previously, Ondo Stocks led the way in tokenizing U.S. stock assets, and now Ondo Perps builds on this foundation by introducing trading and margin mechanisms based on tokenized assets.
Ondo stated that current perpetual contract trading is only part of its broader vision; it will continue building on-chain prime brokerage infrastructure encompassing trading, financing, and margin management to provide a more comprehensive financial services layer for the tokenized assets ecosystem.
