Odaily Planet Daily report: On July 21, NVIDIA unveiled its next-generation Spectrum-6 Ethernet switching system, designed to support hyperscale AI infrastructure based on the Vera Rubin platform. With a single-switch capacity of 102.4 Tbps—double that of the previous generation—the system aims to connect hundreds of thousands of GPUs and CPUs, providing network support for large-scale AI training, agent applications, and inference tasks.
NVIDIA stated that Spectrum-6 will serve as the core component of the next-generation Spectrum-X Ethernet platform, enhancing overall computational efficiency in AI factories through high bandwidth, intelligent traffic management, and fault recovery capabilities. Early adopters will include AI infrastructure providers such as CoreWeave, Microsoft, Nebius, SpaceX AI, and Tesla.
