Derived from Insidebitcoins, the Nasdaq International Securities Exchange (ISE) has filed a proposal with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to increase the position limit for options on BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) from 250,000 to one million contracts. The exchange argues that the current limit restricts market makers and institutional desks, and that the proposed increase would align IBIT with major equity benchmarks in terms of liquidity. ISE also cited strong and growing options volume for IBIT and noted that a fully exercised one million contract position would represent only 7.5% of IBIT’s total float. Separately, JPMorgan filed a prospectus for a structured note tied to IBIT, offering investors potential returns of up to 1.5x if Bitcoin’s price rises significantly by 2028.
