According to Crypto.News, Nasdaq’s International Securities Exchange (ISE) has submitted a request to increase the trading cap for BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) options from 250,000 to 1 million contracts. This is the second such request from Nasdaq ISE, following a tenfold increase earlier this year. The exchange argues the move is necessary to meet growing institutional demand and support legitimate trading strategies. Meanwhile, Deribit, the leading crypto options exchange, reported a record $50.27 billion in BTC options open interest and nearly doubled its 2024 trading volume. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is currently reviewing the request.
