Odaily Planet Daily report: Several major Korean corporations are accelerating their collaboration with tech giant NVIDIA to expand their artificial intelligence (AI) business horizons. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang visited major companies including SK, LG, Hyundai Motor, and NAVER on the same day to discuss cooperation directions in areas such as AI infrastructure and physical AI.
During his visit to the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, Jensen Huang stated that one of the key business areas of collaboration between NVIDIA and LG is robotics. The two companies agreed to strengthen their cooperation in developing humanoid robots, with LG Electronics expanding its strategic partnership with NVIDIA across the entire development process of next-generation robots, including humanoid and logistics robots.
Hyundai Motor Group is strengthening its collaboration with NVIDIA in the field of physical AI, following a prior agreement to jointly invest $3 billion in the development of physical AI in South Korea. During his visit to Hyundai Motor Group’s headquarters that day, Jensen Huang stated that NVIDIA will build a data center in the Sinanjin region of South Korea.
Doosan Robotics, a robot manufacturer under the Doosan Group, will also strengthen its collaboration with NVIDIA on physical AI. The company will use NVIDIA’s robotics simulation toolkit, Isaac Sim, to develop an agent-based robotic operating system.
SK and Naver will collaborate with NVIDIA on AI infrastructure. SK Hynix will co-develop next-generation chips with NVIDIA for building NVIDIA’s AI factories, strengthening their long-term technology partnership. SK Telecom will participate in NVIDIA’s cloud provider ecosystem, NVIDIA Cloud Partners (NCP).
NAVER will partner with NVIDIA to launch a 55-megawatt (MW) AI factory next year, gradually expanding their AI infrastructure collaboration. (Jin10)
