BlockBeats news, on June 17, Serenity shared and commented on Mizuho Securities' latest research report, stating that the recent concentrated selling of CPO-related stocks was entirely an irrational overreaction.
Mizuho's research report indicates that concerns regarding delays in the mass production of co-packaged optics (CPO) and the deployment of 800V DC are unfounded, as both technology pathways are progressing according to schedule, with mass production windows still expected between 2028 and 2029. Driven by NVIDIA's anticipated surge in demand for CPO switches (3.2T Spectrum-X) in 2027, Mizuho has also raised its forecasts for optical engine (OE) shipments.
On the technology roadmap, Mizuho believes that InP DFB lasers remain the long-term mainstream direction for CPO, specifically naming $SIVE as a related beneficiary; VCSELs and microLEDs have not yet been sufficiently validated for short-reach intra-rack and chip-to-chip interconnects above 1.6T, making them unlikely to serve as mainstream alternatives in the near term. Regarding 800VDC data center deployments, incremental shipments are expected to begin in 2027, with further adoption growth projected by 2028.
The senior vice president of NVIDIA's networking division previously publicly denied any delays to the Spectrum-X Ethernet CPO switch, confirming that mass production and customer deliveries are on track to proceed in the second half of 2026.
