ChainThink reports that, on July 19, according to a Meritz Securities report from South Korea, Middle Eastern sovereign AI investors, including those from Saudi Arabia, have recently begun discussions with South Korean memory chip manufacturers regarding medium- to long-term storage product procurement plans.

The report states that growing demand has created upward price pressure in the server DRAM spot market, with particularly notable increases for high-end products with a bus speed of 6400 Mbps.

The spot price for 64GB DDR5 server DRAM has risen to $3,100–$3,400 since mid-July, up approximately 146% from the contract price of around $1,380 at the end of June.

Meritz Securities expects that the server DRAM contract price in the third quarter of 2026 could rise by more than the market's current expectation of approximately 15% quarter-over-quarter;

In the second quarter, we adopted more flexible and customer-favorable pricing from suppliers; price increases in the third and fourth quarters may be more pronounced.
