Odaily Planet Daily reports that Simon Gerovich, CEO of Metaplanet, announced on X that Metaplanet’s board has resolved to establish two wholly owned subsidiaries: Metaplanet Ventures and its U.S. subsidiary, Metaplanet Asset Management Inc.
Metaplanet Ventures plans to invest 4 billion yen over the next few years to support companies building Bitcoin financial infrastructure in Japan, covering areas such as lending, payments, custody, stablecoins, derivatives, and compliance.
Metaplanet Asset Management will be established in Miami as a digital credit and Bitcoin capital markets platform connecting Asian and Euro-American capital markets.
As its first investment, Metaplanet has signed a basic agreement with JPYC, Japan’s first registered yen-stablecoin project, to invest up to 400 million JPY.
