According to Lubin, this writing continues several long-standing themes emphasized by Ethereum, including open source, privacy, censorship resistance, and trusted neutrality.

Buterin previously stated in May that he would pause his regular long-form blog writing and experiment with discussing decentralized governance through science fiction. He has completed the first two chapters and published them on his personal website.
