The platform is expected to launch in the first half of 2027, while the main market’s regular trading hours will remain unchanged from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The new platform is scheduled to operate from 5:00 PM to 7:50 AM the following day, with a 30-minute pause from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM for end-of-day processing. The report states that, at launch, the platform will primarily offer trading in exchange-traded products (ETPs), including funds tracking UK and US stock markets. Julia Hoggett, CEO of the London Stock Exchange, said the initiative is primarily aimed at meeting the needs of retail investors, particularly international ones; the exchange hopes to eventually extend extended trading hours to its more than 2,600 listed ETPs.
