Derived from MetaEra, Klarna, the Swedish buy-now-pay-later giant, announced on November 25 that it will launch its stablecoin, KlarnaUSD, on Stripe's in-house blockchain to reduce cross-border payment costs. The stablecoin aims to significantly lower costs for both consumers and merchants by bypassing traditional intermediaries like SWIFT during large fund transfers. Klarna plans to gradually open the stablecoin to merchants and general users.
