As reported by Bitcoin.com, Klarna, the global digital bank and payments provider, has launched klarnausd, its first stablecoin, on Tempo, a blockchain developed by Stripe and Paradigm. The stablecoin is currently live on Tempo’s testnet, with a mainnet launch planned for 2026. Klarna aims to reduce cross-border payment fees and modernize its global payments network using blockchain technology. The company cited McKinsey estimates showing stablecoin transactions exceeding $27 trillion annually and views the sector as a potential competitor to traditional payment systems by the end of the decade.
