Kalshi has won a temporary legal reprieve in Connecticut after a federal judge ordered the state’s Department of Consumer Protection to pause enforcement actions. The move gives the prediction market platform time to defend its claim that it operates under EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation as a derivatives market, not gambling. Connecticut regulators must respond to the lawsuit by January 9, 2026, with oral arguments set for mid-February. Separately, Gemini’s Gemini Titan platform received CFTC approval as a designated contract market, a step that aligns with Countering the Financing of Terrorism standards.
