Itaú, Brazil’s largest private bank, suggests a 1%–3% Bitcoin **asset allocation** in portfolios from 2026 to manage currency risk. The bank noted Bitcoin’s unique behavior and its potential to hedge against volatility. In 2025, Brazilian investors faced amplified losses due to currency moves, not just Bitcoin’s price. Bitcoin dropped 16.2% in reais despite a 3.5% dollar decline. With a strong **risk-to-reward ratio**, Bitcoin saw $83 billion in 24-hour volume during recent dips. Itaú advises disciplined position-building and rebalancing. Exposure is available via Íon or BITI11 on B3.
