Based on Bijié Wǎng, ConsenSys' Infura team has launched the Decentralized Infrastructure Network (DIN) Autonomous Validated Service (AVS) mainnet on EigenLayer, aiming to decentralize RPC infrastructure. Currently, 70-80% of blockchain traffic is handled by centralized service providers. The network routes over 13 billion requests monthly across Ethereum, Layer 2, and other Layer 1 chains, using EigenLayer's restaking model. Node providers are rewarded for uptime and penalized for downtime. DIN co-founder E.G. Galano said the protocol creates an 'open market where reliability and performance are directly rewarded.' Eigen Labs CEO Sreeram Kannan called it 'a significant step in the development of crypto infrastructure,' effectively addressing centralization risks.
