In accordance with Blockworks, Ika has launched a multi-party computation (MPC) design that enables trustless cross-chain signatures, potentially unlocking tens of billions in dormant BTC liquidity. With less than 1% of BTC currently productive in DeFi, Ika’s architecture aims to redefine decentralized cross-chain operations by eliminating bridge risks and wrapped token dependencies. The protocol leverages Sui’s object-based blockchain to allow distributed networks to generate signatures with cryptographic guarantees requiring user participation. Developers like Human Tech and Native are expected to launch products using Ika later this year.
